2. POSITION SUMMARY
The overall objective of this position is to provide assistance to the Emergency Outreach
Coordinator in delivering individualized case management services to the Aboriginal
community who are at risk or are homeless. The position will provide assistance to the
Emergency Outreach Coordinator to identify, achieve and regularly evaluate client’s
personal goals and to assess and assist client’s needs in the areas of emergency food
outreach, life skills, supports and resources; to facilitate clients’ access to information,
resources and opportunities and link clients to necessary resources to meet their
individual needs. This position will provide administrative support for the program by
collecting statistical data, assisting with the completion of a monthly program report,
assisting with the maintenance of inventory, preparation and delivery of emergency food
to community clients.
3. QUALIFICATIONS
• College diploma in social service work or a combination of Post Secondary diploma
in a related field and a minimum of two years experience working in an emergency
shelter or social work environment.
• Knowledge of computers (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Knowledge and understanding of community resources and Aboriginal people, their
culture, history and traditions which must be demonstrated in submitted resume.
• Must have or willing to obtain training in CPR/First Aid Certificate or willingness to
obtain both.
• Must have a valid Ontario class G or G2 driver’s license.
• Must have a clear CPIC (Vulnerable Sector screening).
